AK Distillery Ltd ("we", "us", "our") respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal data we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. We comply with the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

What we collect

  • Contact details you give us when you fill in a form, sign up to the newsletter, or email us (name, email, phone).
  • Order information when you buy from our online shop. Payments are processed by our payment provider (SumUp); we do not store card numbers.
  • Site analytics: anonymous information about how visitors use the site so we can improve it.
  • Cookies: small files stored on your device. See "Cookies" below.

How we use your data

  • To fulfil orders and respond to your messages.
  • To send the Underground newsletter when you've asked to receive it.
  • To run, improve and secure our website and protect against fraud.
  • To comply with our legal duties (HMRC, alcohol licensing, age verification).

Legal basis

We rely on your consent (newsletter, optional cookies), the performance of a contract (orders, enquiries), our legitimate interests (security, basic analytics) and legal obligations (records we are required to keep).

Sharing your data

We never sell your data. We share it only with trusted suppliers who help us run the business: hosting, payments, delivery, analytics, and email. All are bound to keep it confidential.

How long we keep it

Order records are kept for six years for tax purposes. Newsletter subscriber data is kept until you unsubscribe. Other enquiries are kept for up to two years.

Your rights

You can request a copy of your data, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to certain uses. Email akdistilleryltd@gmail.com and we will respond within one month. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
